B’nai Mitzvah Preparation

Susan Loether, B’nai Mitzvah Coordinator,  can be reached at the temple at 412-369-0900 ext. 14 or by email at sloether@templeohavshalom.org.

The beginning of your journey to becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah starts with a series of workshops at the temple. During these workshops you and your classmates will learn many things both about what the process means as well as how you will prepare for the event. At the first session you will be provided with a handbook to guide you through many facets of the planning stages. You can also download the handbook, along with a series of related attachments, from the links below.

2013- 2014 B’nai Mitzvah Workshops

B’nai Mitzvah Workshops for 2013-2014 will be held on the following dates and will cover the indicated topics. Students and at least one parent are required to attend. These workshops also provide an opportunity for parents to meet each other and offer support through this process. Saturday morning workshops begin at 9:30am and will include a light continental breakfast, juice and coffee, and will be followed by services that are lead by the students at 10:00am. We ask that parents volunteer by hosting and setting up one workshop breakfast throughout the year.
