We are excited to announce that we are considering establishment of a Jewish cemetery that embraces interfaith families. The new cemetery is located within the grounds of the Congregation Beth Shalom Cemetery on Anderson Road, just off of Vilsack Road.
We will be holding two congregational meetings to discuss this opportunity on February 26 at 5:45 p.m. and March 10 at 9:30 a.m. Weather permitting, the meetings will include a tour of the new cemetery.
This is an exciting opportunity for our Temple community for several reasons:
A Jewish cemetery that embraces interfaith families will perpetuate in death what we have established in life.
- You will have the option to have a marker or a tombstone.
- It will give us a greater presence in the Pittsburgh Jewish Community.
- Temple members will be able to save money on their burial plans.
- This will create another revenue source for our Temple which will continue in perpetuity.
Please try to attend one of these meetings to learn more.
