Shalach Manot Bags for Purim

Purim is one of the most festive and entertaining of all Jewish holidays.  It’s a time for masquerades, costumes, noisemakers, storytelling, and gift giving.  The custom of sending gifts and goodies is known by the Hebrew name mishloach manot which mean “sending gifts” as indicated in the Book of Esther.  This is an expression of joy over the victory of Esther over Haman.  It’s also a mitzvah to send a shalach manot bag, as a strong reminder of the love and unity that Esther and Mordechai brought to their Jewish community.

Help the Women of Ohav Shalom raise money for the Religious School!

WOS is selling Shalach Manot bags to help pay our yearly donation to our Religious School, an important part of Temple Ohav Shalom’s community.  What could be more thoughtful than to send a treat-filled Purim bag specially prepared by the Women of Ohav Shalom to your fellow Temple friends to help them celebrate Purim?

First bag costs $18, each additional bag is $3.

For $36 you can choose to send to the Rabbi and TOS staff, Religious and Hebrew School teachers, or the Preschool staff.

And if you wish to send to thewhole congregation, (which includes Rabbi Art, teachers and all staff) your price will be just $72.
